This was the last painting Max did in 2025. It was just a couple of days before Christmas. Max was rested and relaxed and comfortable. The background had a glowing warmth of earthy, sunny colours and he chose to paint leaves on it. He did the first leaf in the middle from his head then asked to see more images of leaves (of which I have HUNDREDS as I am besotted with pretty leaves!) It was his choice to scrape the veins of the leaves into the paint using the end of the paintbrush handle; a painting technique we've done together for many years.
